The mattress gives a cozy feeling without being warm and can be used in summer or winter. We promise, once you have slept in a bed with a featherbed, it is difficult to get up again.

There are several things to look for in the best down mattress toppers:

First of all, they're soft. This may sound obvious, but there are actually two factors that go into this: the filling and the cover. In most cases, your best bet will be white goose down filling with a cover made of 100 percent cotton. But notice that some have only 10% down filling and 90% feathers. Ours are 50%-50%, so they keep their filling power and also the softness.

Secondly, they stay in place. This requires a secure pad and special stitching to ensure the feathers don't shift. Look for thick, durable elastic that will keep the pad from bunching up and a baffle-box design that will keep the feathers evenly distributed. The boxes keep the down in place.

Third, the breathability. With san-pro-care treatment the textile breathes and keeps away the moisture from your body. It's made of cotton.

Finally, that is oekotex certified and that you can trace the feathers, so that animals are coming from the food industry and didn't suffer.

This ultra-soft, super comfy down mattress topper is a fantastic way to spoil yourself if you're looking to splurge. With a cover made out of silky 100 percent cotton, the exterior feels incredibly smooth, even through your bedsheet. The white down has been treated with a double-wash process to makes it hypoallergenic. Extraordinarily comfortable.

It's completely machine-washable at 60 degrees but it will be too big for a normal washing machine, so we recommend to take it to the dry cleaner if necessary. The feathers are fluffy, there is no weird odor and feels like laying on a cloud.

Construction: 6 cm high cases, upholstered with 50% white feather and 50% white down (note that it is softer than other featherbeds containing 90% feathers). Made of German and French down / feather from seabirds. Upholstered with breathable fabric made of 100% cotton specially done to keep the down tightly inside (280 TC). The fabric has received a down treatment which allows the down to breathe but at the same time prevents the filling from sticking out.


Care advice: Fluff up your featherbed once a month by shaking at both ends. Cover your feather bed with a mattress protector to keep away dirt and moisture (we have a 100% cotton washable option that will also protect it from unforseeable accidents).  Other featherbeds are not washable, but the quality of ours allows it to be machinewashable at 60 degrees. If the stain is small the fabric can be washed with foam.  You can take it to a dry cleaner if necessary. The most important is to dry the featherbed completely in a drying cabinet.
